It is known as the Queen Alexandra Birdwing and has a 30cm wingspan. The largest known moth has also been found here. This area includes the mountains in Papua in Indonesia. New Guinea has the third largest rainforest region in the world. Exiting new discoveries with butterflies have been reported here. There are four new species of the Delias butterfly type. These butterfly studies are still ongoing.
